With over 1 Million apps out there, what are the chances of getting your app viral ? Especially, with 1000s of apps getting into Play Store and App Store?
According to TechCrunch, you need to get either 23,000 daily downloads or $12,000 daily revenues to get into Top 50 iPhone apps or in other words , for getting your app to be viral.

The statistics itself speaks for how much daunting task is to build an app.The competition has grown to intense scenario of Do or Die. Developers are going finger-crossed for their apps to get 'Hit' or 'Miss'.

But this all seemed to change with the coming of Flappy Bird. Flappy Bird proved how a simple game can go viral and break milestones after milestones. Not even that, Getting to the prestigious tag of 'Most Downloaded App of Google's Play Store & App Store'.

This theorem works for all-- themes, apps, widgets to name some. The concept is: If any app is simple, it would in turn have a great speed. Hence, you would get less load time; so your users could explore various aspects of the app. Or, your users get engaged with your app.


Another great thing you would find in every game is that they are easy to play, but hard to master. Think about some of the greatest, popular apps you have played. Remember, the last time you played Angry Birds.


Firstly, it has got a simple yet crazily awesome interface, for which you would love to stick around the app. You don't have to go through any kind of 3-page guide to understand how the game works as it was self-explanatory.

Secondly, because of its simplicity, you would need more and more which will lead you to more complex levels. The more complex it is, the more is the urge to break through the next level. This repeated cycle, would make you an addict of it.

Make it Multi-Platform

It's simple. You increase its accessibility, you'll indirectly increase its chances of getting viral. Popular games such as Flappy Bird and Angry Birds became tremendously popular, because they increased their reach, so different audiences could enjoy it.

In the case of Angry Birds, Rovio have made its reach so wider, that you would rarely find an Operating System without running Angry Birds. In case of Flappy Bird, the game might have gone more viral if it was launched on Windows too (which was on due). There are lots of platforms out there: Android, Apple, BlackBerry, Windows etc. But, more prominently, developers build only for Apple's iOS and Google's Android. Moreover, developers are mostly concentrated around one programming language and coding. So if you are an Android developer, it would be quite hard for you to develop an iOS app.

In the current tech-savvy world, sharing is caring. People are connected to each other through social networking websites which includes Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to name a few. If a particular thing is found appeal-able to someone, he would immediately share onto his networks, from which others will come to know which will go on increasing and increasing.
But, it's equally important to use the right things in the right place.You should embed the feature in such a manner that it shouldn't look like a barrier.
