In fact, following others bloggers (especially newbie bloggers) have got Facebook and Twitter Fan Pages for a better reach of audience.
No matter, if the blog is 9 years old or 9 days old or even 9 minutes old ! You at least need to have a Facebook or Twitter Profile.

But, unsurprisingly Social Media is often indiscriminately made to synonym with Facebook and Twitter. Many bloggers often think that large amount of traffic can be brought only through these two platforms.
Apart from this, many others aren't still aware of How platforms like Linkedin, Pinterest etc can drive quality traffic.

So, have you ever tried LinkedIn?

As I said, many bloggers aren't still aware how platforms like LinkedIn , Pinterest and few names can generate quality traffic.
These days Facebook Marketing isn't as effective as before. More spammers and less moderators. It's pretty hard to attract quality readers. Though Facebook gives me more hits in terms of numbers , the quality of the visitors aren't as fine as before.

LinkedIn is actually meant to be a platform for building professional connections but if used smartly, you can bring in some quality traffic using LinkedIn as a standalone source! But as you know, getting quality traffic from LinkedIn is not a child’s play. After all, you don't get results unless you work hard for it.

So here’s the ultimate guide on how to build a successful LinkedIn profile, build relationships and rake in thousands of quality readers.

Setting up your Profile

LinkedIn-Profile

As LinkedIn is a platform to build professional relationships, it’s important to build up a professional and premium looking profile. Setting up a profile is as easy as ABC, just put in some relevant information alongside a professional-looking photo.

You might see, why I’m telling you to build up a ‘professional’ looking account. The reason is obvious, to project you as an expert in your niche or an authority in your niche. As, LinkedIn concentrates in more of Professional Marketers , Bloggers.

Setting up profile is the most important part of all, as all other parts other are heavily linked with building up a good profile. So, don't put your profile information into resume.

Participate in LinkedIn Groups

Likewise Facebook, LinkedIn has also got Groups. You just have to navigate through a list of LinkedIn groups, ask them to join. After that you can join the conversations, add up your views in it, and help others. Since , 90% of LinkedIn groups are highly active you get a wider exposure when you share your views via comments.
Providing beneficial comments can help you increase your Connections in LinkedIn which will in-turn help you brand yourself and your blog.

Sharing Blog Posts and Profile Link

Link sharing is yet another important feature of Social media. Without sharing, social media is stale. You can share your blog post’s links in top groups for better traffic. Always , Post it in such a way that it proves helpful to others. Like if someone wants to get better at SEO, you can post any of your best SEO article there.

Besides posts, you can share your profile links too. You can embed a LinkedIn widget in your blog by putting your profile onto it. By this, it will give a better way to promote your LinkedIn presence and build a large fan-base. Recently , I joined a couple of groups and read a couple of articles that went through my eyes. Then , I put forward some suggestions , compliments and questions. This helped me get a better exposure when I shared a post a few days after.

Connect with others

Connect with people on linkedin

Social Media is more about relationships , engagement and things like that. So after you finish building up a good profile, lookout for people who are quite active on LinkedIn. The more you have connections, the better the traffic.
Before you connect with others take a step back and think about some of the goals you would like to achieve within your business over the next year or so. With these goals in mind , you need to connect with such people who would help you achieve these goals.

Try sending requests to everyone (relevant ones) even if they know you or not. It’s like 6 out of 10 chances of getting your request accepted, after all there's no harm in trying. But, always make sure that you use a personalized LinkedIn note when you’re building your network.Once you get 500+ LinkedIn connections, it is easy to turn LinkedIn as the #1 content marketing referral source. The number of connections is directly proportional to the traffic rate.

Connecting using Recommendations feature

Likewise Facebook, LinkedIn has also got its own recommendation feature. You can write to others for recommendation or they would themselves shoot a recommendation. Recommendation part is an important part of every social networking website, so you can find it in almost every social networking website.
It’s an excellent way to build up an authority in your niche and to build a loyal fan-follower base. The number of recommendations you receive is highlighted at the top of your page when your name appears in a list of group members. The number of recommendations you have is also a criteria factor for search rankings.
