Nokia Lumia 930 vs HTC One M8 : The new boys Clash !!

Nokia Lumia 930 vs HTC One M8

A couple of days before Microsoft unveiled their latest Windows Phone OS , the Windows Phone 8.1 at Build 2014. Along with the release of WP 8.1 , the Nokia also unveiled its latest range of Lumia devices in the form of Nokia Lumia 630, Lumia 635 and the Lumia 930. The Finnish phone makers have set all their hope on the all-new Lumia 930 which marks the beginning of a new generation Lumia devices. Meanwhile, the Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 are expected to arrive as budget phones.

The arrival of Nokia Lumia 930 supported with WP 8.1 marks the beginning of a new worthy clash with the pre-launched htc one successor, the HTC One M8.

Now, the BIG question arises. The Nokia Lumia 930 or HTC One M8 !

You might be wondering, why not the Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Nokia Lumia 930. Well, I did some homework before writing this ‘versus’ review and found that HTC One M8 vs Lumia 930 could be more interesting.

HTC launched their new master boy, HTC One M8 long before the arrival of WP 8.1 and Lumia 930. HTC unveiled their highly anticipated device, the One M8 in an event at New York in the fall of March , 2014.
The Nokia Lumia 930 comes with a completely different design and structure. The new stunning sleek rectangular design running WP 8.1 gives Lumia  a much different and better feeling. Unlike Lumia 930, HTC hasn't fiddled much with the classic design but is marked with improvement in aspect of hardwares.

For your kind information, I've not tried neither the HTC One m8 nor the Nokia Lumia 930 personally since it isn't currently available in my locality. Moreover, these devices are beyond my reach to get them. But, No worries! I've crunched and eaten a lot about these devices and did a pretty good homework before reviewing these devices. Moreover, I've read and watched plenty of articles and videos from trusted sources. So, I’m sure that this article would help you for sure.

No more loose talks !
  Let's go ahead

Nokia Lumia 930 vs HTC One M8 : The New Boys CLASH!!

Design

The Nokia Lumia 930 looks quite more impressive than the previous Lumia 920. The Lumia 930 looks more luxurious this time since it sports silver edges with poly-carbonate back panels rather than the old coloured plastic back body. Touting a sleek rectangular design, this lumia looks more similar to the Apple iPhone 5C. The new rectangular solid shape makes it easier to hold and use one handed.
The HTC One M8 has one of the most luscious designs we've ever seen on a Smartphone . The new HTC One comes with a fully covered metal design, (Except the display, obviously) that gives a much more luxurious and elegant feeling to the users when compared to the previous HTC One.
Both the handsets are available in different shades. The Nokia Lumia 930 comes in Orange, Green , Black and White. Whereas , the HTC One M8 comes in Grey, Silver and Gold.

Display and Dimensions

The Nokia Lumia sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen offering a full HD resolution. [ 1080 x 1920 pixels ] The HTC One M8 also sports a 5-inch display but with Super LCD3 capacitive touch screen display, sticking to 1080 x 1920 pixels. Both the handsets come with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Lumia 930 comes with a pixel density of 441pi whereas the One M8 stands behind by finger tips of 440pi.

The Lumia 930 measures 137 x 71 x 9.8 mm, and weighs  167 grams which means quite a lot. Meanwhile, The new HTC One’s overall dimensions measure up to 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm and weighs 160 grams , which is fairly enough.

There isn't much to talk about the operating systems and processors of these devices. You know it all !!

Just a big difference, HTC One M8 support Android Kitkat where as the Lumia 930 runs Windows Phone 8.1.

The HTC One M8 comes with the latest Android version, the Android Kitkat. The most interesting part in this is that Android kitkat meets the Sense 6 . Sense 6 is the latest version of HTC Sense which comes with a lot of newly packed features.

The Nokia counter attacks the HTC One M8 with its latest WP OS, the Windows Phone 8.1 which is stuffed with a hell lot of new features. The new action center and live tiles highlights WP 8.1 features. Moreover, the most awaited Cortana - Personal Assistant is Microsoft's answer to Apple's Siri and Google Now.

The Nokia Lumia 930 is powered by a 2.2-GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU with 2GB of RAM which slightly trails the HTC One M8 of 2.5-GHz Snapdragon 801, 2GB RAM. The One M8 is also supported by a graphic processor – Adreno 330 , which the Lumia 930 trails.
Though , the One M8 slightly stands high in numbers and graphic department, it doesn't make a huge difference because the Lumia seems to go cool without any lag. Still, the HTC One M8 stands slightly ahead.

Camera

The most interesting comparison would be this for sure. The Lumia devices are foremost known for their specialist camera technology and now the New HTC One introduces a new dual camera technology.

The Nokia Lumia 930 comes with a 20MP Pureview Camera with optical stabilization. Sporting a mammoth pixel resolution of 4992 x 3744 pixels with autofocus and dual LED Flash the Lumia 930’s camera looks and feels even better. This device offers a secondary camera of 1.2 MP which is more than enough for video chats.
On the other hand, The new HTC One features a new generation dual 4MP camera sporting a pixel resolution of 2688 x 1520 pixels. Like Lumia 930, this device also offers autofocus and dual LED Flash. This devices comes with a 5MP secondary camera.

The idea behind dual 4 MP camera was to store spatial information and create a bokeh effect like the one you see in DSLR’s. But, the recent researches say that the idea behind bokeh effect is a complete failure.

Check the video below and decide which one is better

Storage and Battery

The Finnish made Lumia 930 features a 32GB internal memory. Unfortunately, this device has no option to expand the device’s memory since there is no additional microSD slot available. Meanwhile, the HTC One M8 features a 16GB/32GB on-board storage along with a microSD card slot option that can be expanded to 128GB.

Battery is something we get sick off when it comes to Smartphones. Folks always dreams of a Smartphone that stays fits for a longer period. When it comes to battery capacity, the Lumia 930 offers a 2420mAh cell while the HTC One M8 offers a non-removable 2600mAh cell. Both seems to hold pretty battery capacity.

Verdict

So, which device is better and which one trails ? Both the devices are extremely impressive in different aspects. It is really hard to say which one is superior. Considering the Design and Camera , the Nokia Lumia 930 stands a level higher. But, when it comes to Storage and Battery, the One M8 slightly stands high. So, both the devices are perfect in different aspects.

Android lovers would love to use Kitkat but the WP 8.1 is quite impressive that anyone would love to give a try
I’d like to go with Nokia Lumia 930 but I’m still confused.
